New President in charge of JTTA

As of Saturday, there's a new president in charge of the table tennis association here in Jamaica.
I dont know much about the new guy; Godfrey Lothian, but I wish him all the best in his new job running the association.

New president of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA), Godfrey Lothian, promises to revolutionise the sport our the next three years. This plan will be unveiled next month.
"We will unveil a three-year plan at a press conference within the next two weeks. We intend to revolutionise the sport," Lothian, who was unanimously declared president last Saturday at the association's annual general meeting, told The Gleaner yesterday.
Lothian, a long-time football administrator, spoke about a number of things his new administration intends to do in order to move the sport forward.
"Presently, there are 32 affiliates, so we plan to increase that to 100 members in my first year in office. With our two-year term we intend to have all parish associations having elections. We want each parish, as well as Portmore, to have their bodies vibrant," Lothian disclosed.
revamp constitution
The new JTTA body is also looking to revamp the constitution.
"I will appoint Evette Miller, an attorney-at-law, to head a committee that will be in charge of revamping the constitution," Lothian said.
They will also be looking at the possibility of having a home for tennis, just like other local sporting associations.
"We are also looking to appoint Stephen Grant as national coach, to oversee training development of national teams."
Lothian also pointed out that the National Championships are set for June, while the Caribbean Champioships will be held in July.
"Our goal is also to have two representatives (male and female) at the 2016 Olympic Games," Lothian informed The Gleaner.
The JTTA boss said he will form four committees - Constitution Reform, Finance and Fundraising, Youth and Development, and Competitions.
When asked about any previous involvement with table tennis, Lothian said: "I was the manager of Greenwich Town table tennis team in the late 1990s, with former national players such as Ludlow Bailey, Terrence Matthews and Selvin Smith on the team," he responded.
The full JTTA executive that will serve a two-year term are: Godfrey Lothian, president; Maurice Salkey, vice-president; Colleen Johnson, general secretary; Mikhail Johnson, assistant general secretary; Tanya Morgan, treasurer; and Darrington Ferguson, assistant treasurer.
The nine coucil members are: Justin Allen, Michael Grant, Clive Grossett,, Sandra Anderson, Evette Miller, Troy Anderson, Dale Parham, Donald Douglas and Rohan Schloss.
